The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) awarded Zhou Quanquan, the late associate producer of Nightline, a CCTV-12's program, the honorable title of National March 8th Red-Banner Holder.

Zhou started her career in China Central Television (CCTV) in 1996 and she devoted herself to journalism for 23 years. She died in a rockfall on her way to news coverage of the coastal defense in Dangan Island, Zhuhai City of South China's Guangdong Province on June 6.

The ACWF highly praised Zhou for her bravery and sense of responsibility, regarding her as the advocate and defender of the rights and interests of Chinese women and children. She had volunteered to join challenging tasks.

Zhou followed her original aspiration and always remembered her mission as a journalist. She recorded the contemporary society through her lens.

The ACWF called on women across the country to learn from Zhou, especially her firm political belief and commitment to the mission, her fearlessness of hardship and willingness to sacrifice, her bravery to bear responsibility and enthusiasm towards others as well as her due dedication and diligence to her career.

Zhou is the embodiment of Chinese women in the New Era. As a female model, she had achieved self-value, made a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China through her remarkable works and contributed her own power as a woman to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
